Mid Asian Ibex in the high altitude country of Kyrgyzstan is one of the most adventurous and exhilarating hunts on earth. The journey starts from east coast continental United States and heads away from the setting sun to a layover in Istanbul before your final flight to Bishkek. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the VIP customs area where upon completion of your paperwork and weapons clearance you will be transferred to base camp by vehicle. Average transfer is 8-10 hours.
Once your long journey to this epic hunt is complete, you are greeted by your high altitude guiding legends at base camp. Depending on your hunting region (we adjust hunting areas based solely upon pre scouted animal quality and quantity) your next morning will start with a horse trek to fly camp where you will actively start your hunt. Typical conditions in our fall season (September through December) vary from week to week. Due to extreme altitudes from 10,000 to 16,000, weather conditions should be pre checked daily up to the trip departure. However, clients should always prepare for layering clothing to achieve success and safety of the hunt. All clients of AVA will be mailed packing lists before the trip.
A daily routine normally consists of a wakeup with small breakfast while gearing up for the day’s adventure. Horseback is the only way to hunt these elevations to cover the ground needed to find a trophy Ibex. The scenery at elevation is beyond your wildest expectations and the sunrises and sunsets are life changing. You will be on horse the majority of the day with some ridge line traverses throughout the day to check different vantage points. Many, many animals are seen daily with a patient and strong hunter able to (more often than not) secure a trophy of a lifetime. One of the most often overlooked positives of this legendary hunt is the ability to glass and observe the iconic Marco Polo Argali on the same hunt as the Mid Asian Ibex. It’s almost like having your cake and eating it too!! As the Ibex and the Marco Polo often cohabitate, its not uncommon to glass 100+ different animals a day.
Average shooting distance for Mid Asian Ibex is 350 yards.
Upon a successful hunt (we have been blessed with 100 percent success rate in the past for our clients) your trophy will be celebrated, photographed, skinned to your desired future taxidermy needs and taken off the mountain along with all edible meat and other valuable proteins for local consumption. Before your trip home your trophy will be organized with our local assets for preparation, exportation and shipping back to Artistic Visions Wildlife to be incredibly recreated to your desired artistic concept.
This is truly a once in a lifetime EPIC Adventure that you are sure to tell your children and grandchildren around the fire at hunting camp. It is an experience that is not to be attempted by amateur and naive hunters, but it is surely a trip to be conquered by those wishing to be respected as a well rounded hunter.
I have always said a client needs a Capra/Ovis species, a Big 5 Africa species, a Elk/Stag species and a Brown Bear to be considered a truly well rounded hunter… these are besides the basic whitetail deer, black bear, etc species.
Artistic Visions Adventures is proud to be a direct American / Kyrgyzstan represented company that specializes in our clients safety, success and the overall completion of an Artistic Adventure and Amazing Taxidermy. Reach out to AVA for all your Hunting Adventure needs!

Thank you for sharing this insightful article! I found the information really useful and thought-provoking. Your writing style is engaging, and it made the topic much easier to understand. Looking forward to reading more of your posts!
There’s a stillness in your words that allows the reader to hear their own thoughts more clearly. Your writing doesn’t shout; it simply is, and in that space, it allows for contemplation and introspection. It’s the kind of work that asks the reader to slow down, to take a breath, and to truly listen to what’s being said.
The clarity and simplicity of your writing are a perfect complement to the depth of the ideas you explore.
There’s a quiet power in your writing, an ability to convey deep truths without resorting to grandiose statements or complicated jargon. Each sentence feels like a revelation, as if you’ve managed to capture the essence of something fleeting and precious. It’s not often that I find myself thinking about a piece long after I’ve finished reading it, but this is one of those rare times.
